Daiya Deluxe Cheezy Mac Review
Is everyone ready for the weekend?! It looks like the weather is going to be amazing!
Let’s jump into the review for today! Last week I decided to try Daiya Deluxe Cheezy Mac. I know I’ve said that eventually I would like to become vegan, so I’m trying to slowly transition by trying some new vegan foods. Even if you’re not vegan or trying to be vegan, this cheezy mac is a great option because it is actually a little healthier than mac and cheese made with real cheese. Going into this dish knowing that it was vegan cheese, I was pleasantly surprised. The Company did a wonderful job of making the vegan cheese creamy, so it wasn’t obvious it was fake cheese. The bits of vegetables were also a nice touch. The only thing I will say is I couldn’t eat too much of it at one time just because I’m not used to the taste of vegan cheese yet.
Nutrition Facts
If you look at the nutrition facts per serving, the cheezy mac is a little high in fat and sodium but slightly less than real cheese mac and cheese. There’s no cholesterol though! It’s also soy-free, dairy-free (they’re careful with ingredients since it’s vegan), and gluten-free!
Cooking
The Daiya Deluxe Cheezy Mac is extremely easy to cook. All you have to do is boil the pasta with the dried vegetables and then add in the cheezy packet when it’s done!
Stores
As usual, I bought this cheezy mac at Giant. I know Whole Foods and Wegmans also sell Daiya foods though, so they may have it as well.
I really was impressed with how well the Daiya Deluxe Cheezy Mac tasted for being made with gluten-free pasta and fake cheese! If you go into this meal knowing it’s vegan cheese, I think you’ll enjoy it too. I’ll definitely still have to continue to adjust to vegan cheese though! 😂
