Nutritional Yeast Review

Happy November! Has anyone tried out nutritional yeast before? I had heard of it but never tried it until a friend and coworker shared her special blend of seasonings for our veggie quesadilla days! 😂 She had many different seasonings in that mix but mostly it had nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast is a great additive on many foods to get some extra B vitamins and get a cheesy flavor. It’s especially great for vegans, but you can enjoy it if you’re vegetarian or just want to try it out! I wouldn’t suggest eating it right out of the bag like you might with real cheese, but it adds a nice flavor to foods or helps create foods like vegan nacho cheese.

Nutrition Facts

There are not many ingredients in nutritional yeast which is perfect. The calories are low, and it mostly has dietary fiber and vitamins! It’s also gluten free and has protein!

Uses

I use nutritional yeast as an extra on all sorts of foods. It’s great on pizza, popcorn, and veggie quesadillas! 😋 I haven’t actually used it to make nacho cheese yet, but definitely plan on it. On this brand bag, Red Mill, they have some suggested recipes.

Stores

I bought this bag of nutritional yeast from our local Giant in the organic aisle. You can find many other brands of nutritional yeast at other locations such as Costco.

If you’re looking to add some more B vitamins and extra flavor to foods, try out nutritional yeast!
