Field Roast Vegan Chao Slices Creamy Original Review

Happy Friday! If you’re having a cookout this weekend, let me tell you about the Field Roast Vegan Chao slices that you can put on burgers! I’m always a little hesitant when it comes to vegan cheese. Mostly because I am not a huge fan of nuts like cashews (creamy vegan cheese seems to frequently be made from cashews). This cheese is made from tofu though. The flavor of these vegan cheese slices is actually pretty good. It’s not too strong and they have a creamy taste. This is definitely my go-to vegan cheese. The Company makes a creamy original version and a tomato cayenne version. We all know how I feel about spicy though! 😂

Nutrition Facts

There is a higher amount of fat especially saturated fat and sodium but that’s to be expected with an alternative to real cheese. Otherwise the ingredient list isn’t very long and includes tofu and corn and potato starch.

Cooking

I use these vegan cheese slices for sandwiches. Most recently I used it for the impossible burgers I made. These slices don’t melt as much as I would like them to, but it may just depend on how you use them. I’m guessing they may melt better if you put them over food in the oven. I will just have to keep trying them out on different foods and let you all know what I find works best! 😉

Stores

I have found the Field Roast Vegan Chao slices at Giant and Whole Foods. Since Wegmans has a decent alternative section, they may have them there as well.

If you are vegan or are just looking for an alternative cheese, try out these Field Roast Vegan Chao Slices! You won’t even realize you’re eating fake cheese! 😉
